Bill Wade selected as member of Vanderbilt’s Hall of Fame class

The former quarterback of the Chicago Bears Bill Wade has been included in the 12 member list for the inaugural Vanderbilt Athletics Hall of Fame class. The Hall of Fame weekend will be held by Vanderbilt Athletics on September 12 & 13. There will be an Induction banquet held in the evening of September 12th and the Hall of Fame class will be conducted during the halftime of the football game against Rice to be held on 13th September, Saturday. Bill Wade, the famed quarterback of the Bears from 1961-66, will be there to give his valuable inputs to the people attending the class. As the NFL season will be kick starting shortly, there are still a few tickets that are available for the Bears inaugural game on August 7th.

Peterson to host free football clinic on July 12th

The Chicago Bears running back Adrian Peterson has come forward to host the free football clinic on July 12th at Waukegan’s Weiss Field that will be helpful for young children to learn a few football skills. The kids will also be taught about what teamwork and sportsmanship is and will be guided through the pros and cones of self esteem. The Adrian Peterson football clinic is a perfect platform for children interested in football and the first 200 children between the age group of 8-10 and another set of 200 children between the age group of 11-13 will be allowed to participate in the July 12th camp. The Chicago Bears fans are happy about Peterson’s noble gesture and will be cheering for him by buying tickets to the Bears games.    

Chicago Bears signs a four year deal with DT Harris

The Chicago Bears are gearing up for the forthcoming football season and are including some interesting players into their fold for this year. One such player who has signed a four year deal with the Bears as recently as last Thursday was the defensive tackle Tommie Harris. He will be committed to play for the Bears till the 2012 season and his inclusion in the squad will further boost the morale of the team. The Bears are happy to have included this defensive tackle in their line up and are hoping for a mature performance from him in the upcoming season. If you are a Tommie Harris fan, then it is high time that you had bought tickets to the Bears games.  

Bears finish their OTA workouts

The Chicago Bears completed their ten week off season program last Wednesday when they put a full stop to their 13th and final OTA workout. The Bears coach Lovie Smith was happy with  the off season workout that the boys underwent  and is hoping for even better participation from the team during the training camp in Bourbonnais in five weeks time. Smith expected his team to play better this season and is fully aware that his side is the underdog in the forthcoming season. Smith is also impressed with the participation of the rookie s in the Ota workouts and will work them out in different positions once the training sessions start. The Chicago Bears fans are rushing to book their tickets for the forthcoming season.

Peterson out of action for a week

The running back of Chicago Bears team, Adrian Peterson, will not be taking part in the organized team activities of the Bears for a week owing to the emergency appendectomy he underwent last Monday night. The Bears running backs coach Tim Spencer is hoping that Peterson will be available for the practice sessions that begin in a couple of week’s time. Peterson is a player on which the Bears hope rest this upcoming season. The good reviews that he has received during his seven year stint with the Bears will help him stay focused in achieving his goals. It is high time that die hard Adrian Peterson fans book their tickets for the Bears games.  

Bears release running back Benson following arrest

The latest shocking news from the Chicago Bears camp is that they have waived their dependable running back Cedric Benson following his latest arrest which is his second DUI charge in five weeks. The general manager of the Bears Jerry Angelo said that there is tolerance limit, beyond which nothing can be done and stated that Benson’s behavior is his worst enemy. Benson apologized for his behavior in drinking and driving early last Saturday morning and it was totally a bad decision on his part. Bears fans who had bought tickets to watch him play in the upcoming season will have to settle for a Bears team without Cedric Benson.

Metcalf wants to make it big as a starter

Terrence Metcalf is all the more determined this season to show his prowess to the fans and the Chicago Bears management as he had a very poor outing last season. He will be in his seventh year as a Bears pro and has so far played 78 games for the Bears. Metcalf has been designated to begin the season as a starter and is taking all pains in the practice sessions to make the most of the opportunity bestowed upon him. The Halas Hall fans will be surely purchasing tickets to watch the offensive play of Terrence Metcalf. The fact that Metcalf is with the No 1 offense of the Bears will drive him to perform better in the coming season.

Rookie safety Steltz signs four year contract with Bears


The Chicago Bears have signed their drafted rookie safety player Craig Steltz into the team for a four year run this Monday. The deal signed by Craig Steltz will make him richer by $3 million with added incentives and signing bonus. The Bears management is happy to have included Craig into the side and is hoping that his inclusion will bring more laurels to the Bears this season. Steltz is a dedicated and determined player and will try to bring out all the tricks out of his bag this coming season. The Bears fans, who purchase tickets to watch their team perform, will surely be entertained by their new rookie Steltz.

Urlacher appears at the mandatory minicamp amid controversies

The Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher participated in the mandatory minicamp on Friday despite entering into a contract duel with the Bears management. Urlacher said that he attended the camp only because it was mandatory one and said that it was the duty of every football player to honor the club’s mandatory camps. Urlacher did not take part in the OTA camps and offseason conditioning camp held earlier and threatened to boycott the mandatory camp. Urlacher said that he has fully recovered from the minor neck injury he suffered and is fully prepared for the season ahead. He is hopeful that an amicable solution is reached for his contract row problems. An Urlacher fanatic should surely purchase tickets to the Bears game well in advance in order to get the best seats in the house.

Bradley may not attend the training camp.

The Chicago Bears announced last week that their wide receiver Mark Bradley has gone through the pains of an arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and this might keep him out of the training camp of the Bears that is scheduled to start on July 23rd. Bradley had only one touchdown and six passes for 71 yards in his injury prone 2007 season for the Bears. A wide receiver who had received good reviews from his coaches, Bradley’s first two seasons with the Bears have been filled with injuries and he had played his longest season for the Bears in the 2006 season.
