The dirty jobs that Bears players once did
There are several players in the Chicago bears NFL team who had done dirty jobs like cleaning of ditches, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning flower beds and so on to earn a bit more than the minimum wage. Devin Hester, the All Pro return specialist took upon the job of a landscaper by picking up the weeds and cleaning the flower beds in Riviera Beach after seeing his brother make some fast cash in doing such jobs. But Devin did not like the job as he had to work in the sun and quit the job in a week’s time.
The Bears guard, Ruben brown also worked as a landscaper in Atlanta and had to do a lot of back breaking jobs like digging up ditches and trenches to fix the sprinkler systems and says that these jobs are pretty tough to do. Charles Tillman, the Bears come backer, did the delivery boy job for Pepsi for three summers and supplied the cans to restaurants, grocery stores etc in Louisiana and said that it was fun doing the job, but would not have taken it as a career option. Fred Miller worked as a pipe fitter in his summers and Dusty Dvoracek, the Bears defensive tackle, worked in a marina in Texas, as a custodian, pulling trash off the water, cutting grass and cleaning boat slips. But all these Bear players agree that when one needs to earn money very badly, he should be ready to do any job.
