Benson to Compete for Running Back Position
The general manager of Chicago Bears, Jerry Angelo announced that they are adapting a new policy of creating competition for all positions in the team and Cedric Benson is no exception. Cedric, who had a setback in the last year, will have to prove his potential in order to get back his starting running back position in the team. Cedric had the longest run in his career at Seattle in the last season. He was able to cover 43 yards but because of the leg injury he couldn’t complete his season. Angelo said that, they are looking for a running football team and it is highly important that the running backs should have durability.
The coach of the team, Lovie Smith is confident that Benson will make a comeback in this year as he is a very productive football player. At present, the chart of running back is not filled as the bears want all their players to feel that they are the first one to get in to the chart. The top contenders for the running back position include Cedric Benson, Garrett Wolfie and Adrian Peterson. As all the players are strong and capable it will not be easy for Cedric to compete and win the job.
