Benson to fight for a spot in the starting line up
Cedric Benson, the fourth pick for the Bears in the 2005 NFL draft, is on a mission to put of all the disappointments of the 2007 season and is determined to fight his way through into the starting line up of the Chicago Bears team for the 2008 season. The general manager of the Bears, Jerry Angelo, said that Benson has got to compete to get into the squad and there in no two ways about it. He played 11 games in 2007 before sustaining a leg injury that ended his 2007 season abruptly.
The manager feels that the injury is becoming a major concern for Cedric now and durability is an important factor to be considered while selecting running backs. The Bears are planning to add a back in the draft or the free agency as they want to be known as a running football team this year. Lovie Smith, the Chicago Bears coach, is pretty confident in the abilities of Cedric and feels that he will bounce back in the 2008 season and says that he is a good football player. The running back position is wide open as of now and the player who shows an improvement in his game will be the running back for the Bears.
