Booker back to Bears
Marty Booker returned to Chicago Bears for a second stretch on Tuesday by signing a contract for two years. Booker was absorbed by Bears in the 1999 draft in the third round from Louisiana Monroe, formerly known as North West Louisiana. In 2004 August 21, he was traded to Dolphins as a substitute for Adewale Ogunleye, the defensive player. He spent four seasons with the Dolphins before his come back to Bears. Booker always found success while he was with Bears. In 2001, he made 100 catches and created a franchisee record. In 2002, he was voted to join the Pro Bowl after a 1,000 yard season making 97 receptions.
Booker overshadowed the record of Bobby Engram of making catches in 57 uninterrupted matches, by taking catches in 58 matches. He listed fifth in the all- time receiving record of the Bears, registering 315 catches to his name. Within his 4-year tenure with Dolphins, he caught 194 passes and 2,627 yards. In 2007 he made 50 receptions for 556 yards. He is the only receiver remaining with the Bears having the credit of making catches in three TD passes. This achievement was made by him in a match on 2001 November 18th at Tampa Bay.
