Fans can have lunch with Tommy Harris

Chicago Bears fans will get an opportunity to have lunch with Tommy Harris who recently received the Ed Block Courage Award. Ticket sales are started for the luncheon meet at the Maryville Academy in Des Plaines. The event is organized to honor Tommy Harris the defensive tackle as he is the recipient of the prestigious Ed Block Courage Award in the team this year. This esteemed award is to one player from all the 32 NFL teams who shows dedication and devotion to sportsmanship and shows courage in the game and is an example for the team to follow.

Harris was forced to keep away from some of the games in the late 2006 season, but made a courageous comeback and made eight sacks which is his career high and was voted to Pro-Bowls in three straights. He is the first defensive player in the history of Bears to get voted for three straight Pro-Bowl. Selection procedure for this prestigious award includes voting by team members. Ed Block was the head trainer of Baltimore Colts and the award foundation works for the prevention of Child Abuse by creating awareness about the issue and also assists agencies involved in the treatment and care of such children in the NFL represented communities.
