Chicago Bears Review

Lovie Smith understands the hardships of a coach

Lovie Smith, the Bears coach, understood that it will not be a smooth sailing as a coach of any team. The Bears coach says that he has come to terms with the nomadic life of the coaches. Lovie Smith had to switch to 18 different homes in 11 different states since he took up the coaching job at Tulsa in the year 1983. He has coached college teams like Tennessee, Tulsa, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Arizona State and Ohio State and then landed up in the NFL as Tampa Bay Bucs line back coach in 1996.

He pretty well knows that most of the coaches will not be with a team for a long time and this nomadic life is part of the life of a football coach. Lovie Smith will be coaching the Chicago Bears for the fifth successive season this year and this will be his longest stint as coach of a NFL team.
