Chicago Bears Review

Rashied Awarded New Contract

The Chicago Bears have given Rashied Davis a new one-year lease to continue his involvement with the team. The wide receiver has agreed to stay on after being a restricted free agent. Although there were no official announcements made regarding the amount of money involved, sources say the figures could be as much as $927,000. This happened last Friday, much to the joy of Davis’ fans who were afraid that he might lose his job with the Chicago Bears.

Before he was picked up by the Bears, Davis established his early career years in the Arena Football League. He was then a wide receiver and an excellent cornerback for the San Jose SaberCats. He built his reputation with the SaberCats and eventually impressed the Chicago Bears head coach so much that he was awarded a contract as cornerback in 2005. He quickly proved his worth and managed to take on challenges on the field as a wide receiver just before the 2006 season started.
