Chicago Bears Review

Chris Williams is New Addition to the Bears’ Family

Chris Williams was selected in the Chicago Bears’ first round draft as the 14th pick. This happened last Saturday, April 26. He was first spotted by scouts during his senior year in 2002. He replaced the left tackle in his team and the rest, as they say, is history. Williams, who wore No.71, was scouted for his determination and will. He was an imposing figure at 6 feet 5 and approximately 240 pounds. The Vanderbilt offensive tackle received a call when he was home at Nashville, Tennessee and was jubilant when the Bears told him that he was picked in their draft. The team favors him for his mobility and agility, and the fact that he is left handed makes him perfect for the left side.

The NFL Network is quick to report that three other NFL teams have decided not to take Williams under their wings due to the fact that they are concerned that his neck injury might pose difficulties for the team. They have no reason to worry though, because Williams’ persevering spirit will see him through. To date, he has not skipped a single game for the past three seasons. Even so, he is glad to have been picked to join the Chicago Bears team.
