Chicago loses to Kansas City in first preseason game

The Chicago Bears were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs 24-20 by a last minute touchdown pass by Tyler Thigpen in their first preseason game. The Chiefs made an impressive start to the game by marching 81 yards on 16 plays and a 18-yard completion from Brodie Croyle to rookie Brad Cottam. The Bears made a strong comeback in the third quarter with a series of touchdowns and took the lead. Toward the end of the third, Chicago capped an 80-yard drive with a 13-yard TD pass from Hanie to Brandon Rideu.  In the fourth quarter it was Thigpen’s 27 yard pass for a touchdown with 1:15 minutes on the clock that made all the difference to the final result of the game.
