Grossman can’t quite get it done

Man, that was close. Orton was out, so Rex Grossman was back in the game. Now let’s be fair, this guy took the Bears to the Super Bowl a couple years ago on a strong season. He’s no bad QB. And he showed that at times last Sunday. The big guns for the Bears came out early, with Grossman orchestrating a 14 play, 75 yard touchdown drive on their first drive of the game. He also put together a nice big drive later in the game. But for much of the game, Chicago was playing in its own territory with no particularly impressive moves. The punter said that it was draining to have to punt from deep in your own territory all afternoon. So Tennessee won 21-14, but that’s life in the NFL this year. It’s the way things are now. But the Bears are still 1st in the NFC North, tied with Minnesota at 5-4.
