Ah well
Well, the Bears gave it a shot. They had to have a pretty lucky constellation of wins and losses in the league yesterday in order to win a spot in the playoffs. Either Minnesota had to lose and the Bears had to win. OR several other Wild Card contenders needed to lose and the Bears needed to win. The theme here is “Bears needed to win” in order to give them any kind of a chance at it. Instead, they lost to the Houston Texans and that was it. Minnesota won, pretty spectacularly, so they didn’t end up with a chance at the division title. But the Wild Card scenario turned out to be right. They would’ve made it, if only they’d won. Ah well. Lovie Smith thinks we’re just a couple of close games away from 16-0. Nice try.
