What to do from here…
Now that they’ve once more failed to enter the playoffs (after every thing that needed to happen did happen, except them winning), the question is “Where do we go from here?” Here’s a few ideas (good or bad, they will definitely change something): Get rid of Babich and Turner. Babich has managed to put an anti-Midas touch on a defense that was one of the top five only two years ago. He can go. As for Turner, you’ve seen the offensive play calling for the past two years now. Crap. He’s gone. They’re both overrated. On the topic of overrated, trade Urlacher. He’s no where near the same player he used to be, but he can still probably bring in a fair amount of money from a trade. Sadly however, he was crucial on the field to tackle a guy that was already on his way down, if not already lying on the ground. So we’ll need to find some player that can handle that enormous task. Other than that, let’s get a new center too while we’re at it. Kreutz screws up too much, then jovially laughs about it on the sideline. What else…oh yeah, let’s get another receiver who can catch a ball that hits his hands. Hester is pretty decent on one side, but he’s a speed guy. Let’s get another solid hands receiver on the opposite side. Then we’ll have two good options for receivers.
