Leftwich left behind still?

Byron Leftwich is going to be a free agent quarterback at the end of the season. That is, he’s already a quarterback, and he’s going to be a free agent at the end of the season. He’s currently the backup quarterback for Pittsburgh, who are still in the playoff race, and have some good possibilities coming up for them. Leftwich says that he thought he was coming to the Bears in the first place but wasn’t selected back in 2003. It’s rather a shame that he didn’t come because there has been plenty of need for real QBs in Chicago for several years. He would definitely be an improvement over what we have, though our QBs seem to be coming to the fore as well. We’ll have to wait until after the Super Bowl, though, because he’s not going to comment at any length for now.
