Rod Marinelli, the former Detroit Lions coach and new defensive coach for the Bears, had to apologize this week because of comments he made the other day to reporters that he met in Alabama. He was trying to avoid an interview, because he didn’t want to talk, and he pushed his way past the reporters and said “Goodbye, ladies” on his way out. It was said in a rather mean spirited way and clearly some kind of insult. The National Association for Women in Sports Media complained right away and Marinelli apologized within a day. This brings the issue to a close, and that’s good. No distractions. The defense needs more work though!
