Maynard’s Record Stands
Brad Maynard, the Bears’ punter, watched the Super Bowl with a special amount of interest. When he played in the Super Bowl several years ago against the Baltimore Ravens, he got the record for most Super Bowl punts. He kicked 11. So he watched the game, hoping that his punt record wouldn’t get broken along the way. It’s kind of too bad for him to have that kind of record, but if you’re going to lose 34-7, you might as well have gotten something out of it. Anyway, his record stands for at least one more year!
