Choosing the New Coaches

Lovie Smith obviously has some problems ahead when he tries to get his team back on track for next year. He has essentially one shot to get it right and he has to pick the right guys. A couple of the potential offensive coordinators that he was looking into turned out not to be possible, especially those that have taken other positions. Then there are the philosophical differences that might crop up. Smith has a particular idea in mind for his defense, which isn’t going to change in any particular way. But according to the Chicago radio this morning, he probably won’t have much say on what happens on offense, because his new coordinator will hopefully have enough experience and smarts to design a good strong offense. This might turn out to be a successful way to approach the coaching moving forwards. They say that they don’t expect the Bears winning to be a long-term process. Hope they’re right!
