Chicago Bears Review

Defense still weak

The offense is creating headaches for the coaches at Chicago Bears. This was evident after the overtime 29-26 loss to Seahawks. Quarterback Rex Grossman had a day to forget. While he can’t be blamed for all the mistakes, Kyle Orton seemed edging closer to getting the quarterback spot after directing a 2 minute drill late in the 2nd half.  Defensively the team looked composed and strong but offense was in a mess. They next play San Francisco 49ers on 21st August and Chicago Bears on Sept

Bears hoping for improved defense

Last season was something that Chicago Bears would not want to forget about. The team’s defense was all over the place and was ranked 28th last year. Tommie Harris was the only bright spot and played all the games despite having a knee injury. However Harris recently said in a press conference that this season was expected to be much better with most of the players fully fit. He also mentioned that the training camp was a success and everyone was gelling well. Any significant improvement in the defense will become evident next week when the Bears play Seattle in an exhibition match. All first line players are expected to majority of the game.

The Chicago Bears were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs 24-20 by a last minute touchdown pass by Tyler Thigpen in their first preseason game. The Chiefs made an impressive start to the game by marching 81 yards on 16 plays and a 18-yard completion from Brodie Croyle to rookie Brad Cottam. The Bears made a strong comeback in the third quarter with a series of touchdowns and took the lead. Toward the end of the third, Chicago capped an 80-yard drive with a 13-yard TD pass from Hanie to Brandon Rideu.  In the fourth quarter it was Thigpen’s 27 yard pass for a touchdown with 1:15 minutes on the clock that made all the difference to the final result of the game.

Chris Williams out of action for the Bears

The disc surgery carried out on the lower back of Chicago Bear’s first round pick Chris Williams will keep him out of action for the pre-season opening games for sure, but one cannot tell at this moment about when Williams will be able to take the field for the Bears again. Lovie Smith, the bears coach, is very much disappointed with all the injury concerns that have happened to his number one left tackle pick, as all his plans involving Chris with the season nearing has gone for a toss now. The Bears fans are hoping to see this star player in the thick of things pretty sooner than later. There has been a huge sale of tickets to the Chicago Bears games this season.

Race for the No 1 quarterback position hots up

The Chicago Bears think tank will have to dig deep in order to finalize on who will be the top quarterback player for them in the upcoming NFL season. Both the quarterbacks, Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton, are showing real progress in the practice sessions and the management are waiting for the Kansas City exhibition game on Thursday to decide on who among the two will be the starter for the Bears at the quarterback position this season. But, the impressive performances by Kyle Orton in the recent practice sessions, weighs him at a slimmest advantage over Grossman. The Bears fans have already bought their tickets for the Bears opening game regardless of who will be playing in the quarterback position.

Kreutz removed from physically unable to perform list

The Chicago Bears center Olin Kreutz who missed on the training camp workouts for the past week owing to an aching Achilles tendon has rejoined his teammates for the practice sessions from Tuesday. The coach and his players were all happy to see this veteran center get back to practice as many have pinned hopes on him to take his team to greater heights of glory this season. Olin Kreutz was also happy to have rejoined his teammates and is ready to support the team hands down in whatever capacities he can. Kreutz’s fans are happy to see him around at the work out sessions and are expecting wonders from him this season. The ticket sale for the new NFL season has been very good.

Hester to stay with Bears till 2013 season

One of the specialist returners in the Chicago Bears camp Devin Hester has signed a four year contract extension with the Bears management and the outcome of this contract is that the player will be playing in the National Football League for the Bears through 2013 season. Hester was desperately hoping for signing the new deal with the Bears, which, according to him, took a longer time than he had imagined. Hester was so upset with the management that he did not turn up for the Bears training sessions. Devin Hester is hoping for better things to come his way in the near future. The tickets to most of the Bears games are currently on sale.

Chicago Bears to be Affected by NFL Policies

One of the most talked about issues this season with the start of training camps would be the non recieval of NFL Europa roster exemptions. The former developmental league gave clubs the advantage of carriying additional players beyond the 80-man offseason limit into their respective training camp. The decision came after NFL in April voted against the expansion of offseason rosters from the current limit mainly due to financial issues. This will certainly affect the Chicago Bears but will not affect their ticket billings.

Stars Return to Bears Secondary

Mike Brown
Defensive backs Mike Brown and Nathan Vasher returned to anchor Bears secondary. Talked about as being two of the best playmakers in the Pro Bowl, they will be a great boost to the team. The team reports them as being ‘hungry’ and ‘not the same people they were before the injury’. Their presence is sure to increase the fanbase which is already lining up to buy tickets for the Chicago Bears games.

Show your colors Bears fans

If you have been a Chicago Bears fan as long as I have, you know just how hard it can be to find tickets.  Going through the team website is almost impossible because you never get tickets that way.  Well instead of settling for watching the Bears on my TV at home, I have turned to the secondary market for my Chicago Bears tickets.  The tickets are almost always above face value but can’t put a price on experiencing Soldier Field live. Plus I get to pick where I want to sit, not get stuck with seats I don’t want.  I need to be with my “Bears family” so we can support our boys from the stadium and not at an overcrowded bar or from our living rooms.  So if you are real Bears fan, you won’t let a silly thing such as sold out games stop you from watching the Bears capture a NFC Championship.
